Can I have Multiple Labour Rates in one Job?

You can use multiple labour rates on a singular job; however, a few changes need to be made on the job header screen. First make sure that you have a multiple options of labour rates set-up in your data. This can be done either in the job header page or in Tools>Miscellaneous File>Labour Rates (please see the changing labour rate cost article for more detail).

Once you have all the relevant rates inputted onto your database, go to the job header screen and toggle off the ‘Set Fixed Labour Rate’. This will allow the ability of multiple rates to be applied onto the job.

Now when you are on the ‘Take-Off’ page you will have a new button on the bottom left and 2 new columns in the ‘Examine Grid’.

The ‘Labour Factors’ button will allow you to choose which rate you would like to use for the next items that are being inputted.

You will notice there is labour type number against each description. You will all ways be able to the view the labour type of a specific item using 1 of the new columns on the ‘Examine Grid’; ‘LT’ this will have the relevant numbers from the ‘Labour Factors’ button.

You will also be able to change the numbers in the ‘LT’ column directly by overtyping the number to your desired labour options. This can also been done in bulk by highlighting the items, right click and select the options 'Change By Range' and tick the ‘Labour Type’ box and select your required labour options.
